At 8 o'clock on February 9th 1964, 73 million people gathered in front their TV sets to see The Beatles' first live performance on U.S. soil.
February 7, 1964: The Beatles arrived in New York City for their first U.S. visit. They were greeted by more than 2,000 fans at JFK airport. On February 11, two days after their first live U.S. television appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, their first U.S. concert took place at Washington Coliseum, in Washington D.C.
